About Memorial Hospital - Sisli

Memorial Şişli Hospital, part of Memorial Health Group, began admitting patients in 2000 as the group’s first hospital. The foundations of the project were laid in 1996 with consultancy support from the U.S.-based healthcare advisory firm ECRI, and the facility was built on Istanbul’s European side in Şişli. Designed with modern architecture and equipped with advanced medical technologies, the hospital spans a 53,000 mΒ² closed area, offering 267 bed capacity, 12 operating theatres, 4 intensive care units, and 4 specialised laboratories.

International Accreditation

In 2002, only two years after its opening, Memorial Şişli became the first hospital in Turkey and the 21st in the world to receive JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation, a global recognition of quality and patient safety in healthcare services.

**Terrible Experience at This Hospital – Avoid at All Costs!** I took my mother to this hospital when she was in critical condition with stage 3 cancer. They demanded **$800 upfront** before providing any treatment. We paid, but they didn’t even give her **emergency care**β€”instead, they sent her back to the hotel. We had no choice but to transfer her to another hospital since they refused to help. Despite multiple requests, they **never refunded the $800**. For months, they kept making excuses, then **falsified a payment receipt**, claiming they sent the money to my bank account. But the details on the receipt were completely wrongβ€”**not my account number at all**. It’s clear they **stole the money**, likely splitting it among themselves, knowing we couldn’t take legal action after leaving Turkey. What’s worse, their staff, especially the **head translator "Serdal"**, was extremely rude. When I complained, he just said, *"Go ahead, complain wherever you wantβ€”you can’t do anything."* They took advantage of my mother’s suffering, and now that she has passed away, we’ve stopped pursuing it. But I want to warn others: **DO NOT TRUST THIS HOSPITAL.** They are scammers who exploit vulnerable patients. **Be very careful before going thereβ€”learn from our painful experience. If you notice this post Management You can contact me at this number and I will show and prove everything to you.

Thank you, Dr. Mehmet Halis. Thank you, Beyza – the happiest and most joyful translator. Thank you, Dr. Ali Cankut. Thank you, Mohammed – kind and patient translator. Dr. Halis, I am deeply grateful for your expert care during my surgery. The attention and compassion you show your patients is truly unmatchedβ€”far beyond anything I have ever experienced. From the very beginning, your incredible team was there for me. The nurses who carefully monitored my medication and nutrition, the staff who cleaned our room with such care, brought food, and supported my husband during such a stressful timeβ€”each one made a difference. TeşekkΓΌr ederim. (Thank you in Turkish.) Memorial Hospital and your entire staff provided an exceptional experience. I will speak highly of it to everyone I know. Despite not speaking Turkish, your team made me feel fully understood and supportedβ€”whether I was speaking English, Spanish, or typing into Google Translate. That alone speaks volumes about the empathy and professionalism of your staff. Even with a fractured leg, I had an amazing experience because of you all. I will never forget the warmth, kindness, and care I received. Thank you for helping me move forward, for being there for me, and for turning a challenging moment into a truly memorable one. With all my heart, Thank you.

Facility: Pristine clean. very well maintained. Staff members: lethargic and unmotivated. I was there for a surgery and my post-operative pain was unbearable. I did not speak Turkish so I had to use Yandex translator. I asked twice for more painkiller because I felt like being stabbed and choked, but both times they ignored my requests and went back to playing on their phones. I had to go to their desks and demand a better pain killer for the third time and 2 hours of agonizing pain. They just don't seem to pay attention because my translator clearly asked for a painkiller but they responded that I still have to keep my medical dressing on??? I had to call the operating doctor and his personal assistant to get them to actually work. While I was in my room, there were several kids just running up and down the hallways and nobody seemed to take their parents accountable.

In August 2024, I was on the holiday in Turkey (Izmir) after a little over a week I got really sick and went to the local hospital in Izmir. Unfortunately, as much as they tried to help me and in overall all doctors and staff was amazing. I was told that they could not do much and I needed bigger/ better hospital more specialistic. So, I flew to Istanbul and it turned out that I needed an emergency operation ( I had symptoms in 2023 but in the Uk ultrasound and bloods even tho I know now having a copy of the results were bad they just ignored it cos I was young and nothing to worry according to the Uk NHS) I was operated and it was a really complicated operation, however thanks to Prof Dr Veysel and his amazing team of highly Skilled doctors I was saved. Stayed at the hospital for 7 days and another few weeks before I could fly back to the Uk. I am still here and I am ok, still I come for check ups to Prof Dr Veysel. I am grateful and there are no words for how thankful I am to All that took part in saving me. GOD BLESS YOU ALL πŸ™πŸ«ΆπŸ«Ά
