Being a doctor requires conscience⦠Our grandmother stayed in the intensive care unit of this hospital for 15 days. During this period, we had three different doctors, and the last one who treated her was Dr. Gârkem Yıldız. Despite being fully conscious, she was given all kinds of medications without our knowledge or consent. Every day, they administered different treatments, but we were never informed about what was being done to her. It felt like she was being used as a test subject, rather than a patient who deserved care and respect. This doctor coldly told us, day after day, that our grandmother was deteriorating and would not survive. He acted as if he knew everything but lacked compassion and empathy. Unfortunately, he has become a doctor, but he has never learned mercy and kindness.

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to express my concerns regarding the communication of Dr. GΓΆrkem YΔ±ldΔ±z, who is working at your hospital, with the relatives of patients. My grandmother recently underwent surgery, and while we appreciate the medical care provided, we were deeply disappointed with the way Dr. GΓΆrkem YΔ±ldΔ±z communicated with us. We experienced a lack of understanding and empathy from the doctor, as well as a disrespectful attitude. As family members who were already anxious and concerned, this behavior made the situation even more difficult for us. However, proper and respectful communication with the relatives of patients should be an essential part of healthcare services. Therefore, I kindly request that this issue be taken seriously and that necessary steps be taken to ensure Dr. GΓΆrkem YΔ±ldΔ±z improves his communication and empathy skills when dealing with patients' families. I hope that our feedback contributes to a better experience for future patients and their loved ones. Sincerely, Ilayda

I am a Canadian citizen recently moved to Ankara, on Apr 03, felt chest pains, a friend of ours brought us here, they immediately did a thorough check including Angiography & Angioplasty and determined that I will require a Bypass surgery immediately (Apr 10). Surgery went fine without any issues however the POST surgery care that I received was just remarkable. These people are very compassionate, caring even though I barely speak any Turkish. The treatment and care I received is way better than what I am used to in Canada. Here are some names of the Wonderful staff members that took care of me, Dr. Eren and his team (surgery), Post surgery care, these people are amazing, extremely caring and very compassionate on 6th floor: MΓΌcahit, GΓΆzde, Sultan, AyΕe Nur, Aziz, Mete, Mehmet, Seda, Deniz, Buse, Sena, and Moya from the InternatΔ±onal office β I thank each one of the above and anyone else who took care of me, You are the Best!

The doctor (Hakan Dur) was quite rude, according to him I don't have any right to know the details of medical treatment which I receive, I should just passively accept everything without asking what kind of medicine is being injected, what kind of effect it has. We came to hospital on Saturday around 12, I clearly felt the smell of alcohol from the doctor.... Looks like Friday evening he had fun, but on Saturday he had to work, of course he didn't sleep enough, how he will be patient to people who are just trying to learn what is the plan of treatment... My slight attempts to clarify what is being injected, will it reduce pain or not made him angry and makes him feel that I don't trust him as a doctor. Probably he is a good doctor but feeling smell of alcohol from someone doesn't make me trust this person. I believe I am not the only person in the world who thinks this way. The patient was my relative and registered in hospital's system as a foreigner, not turkish citizen and I did my best to understand doctor's sayings. But the doctor nearly send me out and said in a very rude way that I should bring someone who speaks turkish. OK, why you announce that you provide service to foreigners? Why it's OK to receive money from me as a foreign patient (I payed around 7000 tl for the treatment) but you are not ready to clarify what you are going to do with my body?? The patient was my relative who had very strong pain and I wanted to help her. I felt myself like in a trap, I depend on this doctor because he started medical treatment, but I don't have chance to clearly what is going to be done, what kind of effect it has. Very bad feeling to be like in a trap. I hope the treatment will be helpful or at least there will be no harm but I would strongly recommend to the head of the department to pay attention to that doctor because he clearly likes alcohol. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone even if he might be genius. I would like to thank the other people who registered us, who helped to push the wheelchair and the man who assisted to doctor (probably nurse).
