This hospital was honestly amazing i came in on wednesday while on holiday and i couldn’t even think of one fault. I came in with a suspected miscarriage and had to have surgery yes they won’t do anything until you pay or your insurance pays but that’s expected anywhere when travelling abroad the staff was great i was seen to and treated straight away i was in surgery probably an hour after arriving they did everything that needed doing straight away. It was far better treatment then i would get in the Uk if i went to hospital there. It was also very clean and modern the hospital room was amazing.

My boyfriend had to go to the hospital during our vacation for his knee two days before we left for home. Before they even looked at him, they told him he had to cancel his flight back and that he would have to stay for a few days. When it was his turn, no one spoke English, and he didn't get an explanation of what was going on. They immediately wanted an X-ray and MRI, but nothing came of it. They put bandages on him, and he would have to stay for several days to rest. We didn't agree to this, so they wouldn't give us a fit to fly certificate unless he was willing to pay for everything himself without insurance. They even told us that his leg would have to be amputated if he did fly... We were referred to another hospital through our insurance, and they helped us immediately and told us it wasn't serious. They immediately gave him a fit to fly certificate and explained everything to us in English.

Be aware of the over pricing by this hospital, they charged me more than €800 only for food poisoning. When we visited the hospital we so completely no patients & they were only 3 staff and was full of smoking smell. If you are sick find another hospital.

On June 1, 2025, while on holiday in Bodrum, Turkey, I awoke with strange nonsensical complaints. I had telephoned a physician friend at 1 AM and fortunately he answered. Based on what I told him, he called my wife and said to take me to the nearest hospital emergency immediately. The Bodrum ambulance was not operational and thanks to Deniz Kiraz, the manager of El Vino Hotel and Suites in Bodrum (a marvelous boutique hotel you should use if ever in Bodrum), and my wife, I was transported to a taxi with the help of the hotel staff! I was taken to the Amerikan Hastanesi Bodrum (American Hospital, Bodrum) by which time I was delusional (making no sense whatsoever). I was taken under the care of Dr. Yusuf Babayiğit, the Physician-in-Chief, and, Internal Medicine and Kidney specialist. I was examined, blood drawn, a chest x-ray done and within 30 minutes I was having a brain MRI. In the Emergency Room, I was evaluated by a neurologist and a cardiologist, as well as Dr. Yusuf Babayiğit. I was transferred to the intensive care unit and also evaluated by specialists in respiratory medicine, infectious disease and eye disease. My kidneys had stopped working and a kidney dialysis machine was used. After 8 days in the intensive care unit, I was transferred to the ward for a further 4 days of treatment and intensive physiotherapy. As a physician, I have worked in 4 Canadian provinces, as well as periods in London, England; Brisbane, Australia; as well as, New Haven, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts. The level of care at the Amerikan Hastanesi Bodrum was as good if not better than any of the famous hospitals I have worked at. The skill level of all the staff and consultants was at the highest level (especial kudos to the nursing staff in the intensive care unit who were extraordinary). Dr. Yusuf Babayiğit had to not only deal with me as a patient but also my colleagues from around the world who had questions and suggestions! He is a Master Physician for his personalized care, broad knowledge base, compassion and good humour. One could not wish for a better doctor anywhere. Finally, the hospital administration, headed up by Özlem Kiraz, was like everything else at the Amerikan Hastanesi Bodrum - incredible. On discharge, I was given more data than I have ever seen provided to a patient which helped immensely in obtaining coverage from my health insurer. It was a couple inches (5 cm) thick. If you need serious health care, The Amerikan Hastanesi Bodrum, is a great place to be seen. John M. Esdaile, MD

Expensive and geared to attract tourists. Service is average and not as good as the average tourist hospital if there is such a thing! The Devlet Hastenasi by Midpoint shopping center is state of the art and cutting edge medical care by comparison for much less cost.
