Acibadem Hospital | Bodrum

I have recently undergone a serious brain surgery at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital. I was truly fortunate to be in the hands of an excellent and highly experienced brain surgeon who is not only extremely knowledgeable but also deeply caring toward his patients. From the moment of admission until discharge, every step of my treatment was handled with professionalism, compassion, and remarkable attention to detail. The quality of medical care and hospital services here easily exceeds that of many hospitals in Europe. I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire hospital team — the nurses, caregivers, cleaning staff, and patient service personnel — for their kindness, patience, and genuine dedication. They made me feel safe, supported, and cared for throughout my recovery. Overall, I am deeply grateful and very satisfied with my experience at Acibadem Bodrum Hospital.

My husband was hospitalised whilst on holiday in Altinkum, Didim. We received excellent care & our insurance company was consulted on all diagnostics & treatment plans. The patient liaison team went above and beyond to ensure they were present at every consultation and were available for any queries we had during our 16 night stay. Also assisting with repatriation queries and resolution enabling us to fly home safely. The discharge pack was comprehensive and translated to enable our GP to understand our patient experience and follow-up referrals needed. As a registered UK nurse I was updated on all treatments suggested & provided with the help of the patient liaison team. The consultants were prompt, explaining the diagnostics and worked collaboratively to ensure my husband received excellent care. The care provided by the nursing team on the whole was excellent and prompt & caring. My only criticism would be the discharge was left to the last minute and with less than 30mins before the ambulance arrived to start our repatriation I was advised payment of approx £850 was needed for the food provided, this was not expected nor was it explained at the time of admission. Also the prescription provided was excessive and due to being given less than 10mins before ambulance was expected for repatriation there was little time to review and identify which medication we already had a good supply of at home and therefore resulted in £150 medication bill. The overall experience of ACIBADEM Bodrum was excellent, we felt confident of the treatment plan and involved in healthcare decisions.

I was told that while visiting Turkey, this hospital company was the place to keep in mind if anything came up. All of the sudden, I needed an urgent heart procedure. I made an appointment and was seen the same day. Dr. Muhammet Buğra Karaaslan and staff are excellent. Clear and to the point. Answered all my questions and even consulted with my primary care physician. Preformed the procedures with excellence. The room was fantastic. The professionalism and training of the nursing staff and attention exceeded my every expectation. The interpreter, Güney was most excellent and went out of his way to care for our needs. The financial staff was also very helpful in accommodating our financial circumstances. I do highly recommend this hospital for medical services. Well done by all.

Acibadem is a well established, private healthcare provider in Turkey, with several hospitals and clinics across Turkey and increasingly in Europe and the Middle East. As a private hospital, Acibadem competes against other private providers in terms service quality and against the state hospitals, which are free. Against this background, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by their hard product (i .e., the hospital infrastructure, the hotel like rooms with large bathrooms, etc.), but even more pleased with their soft product (i.e., the quality of care, compassion of the nurses and the doctors). A relative of mine was taken to Acibadem Bodrum, and despite her being a - shall we say a very difficult patient - the doctors and nurses were extremely understanding and compassionate. The care we received was as good, if not better, than anywhere else i have seen, particularly compared to the care provided in the US or Europe. There is, of course, a cost for this service. There is a flat rate for the room, which includes all routine care and tests, food for the patient and one person/relative/friend who stays with the patient. The fee for imaging, more elaborate tests, and surgical procedures are additional. The staff usually (but not always) informs you of the cost for those procedures ahead of time, so that you are aware of the cost - in case your insurance does not cover it. You are able to decline a test ordered by a doctor. If you do so, they will try to diagnose using other approaches, but typically there is little as an alternative to certain imaging tests. If you are of limited means, you may negotiate the cost. Overall, my experience was very positive, and the final cost was well below what it would cost in the US for a similar week long hospital stay.

This is not a hospital — it’s a human repair factory designed to extract money. They don’t investigate the root cause. They don’t offer alternatives. They don’t care about healing. Any symptom? Straight to surgery. No proper diagnosis. No conservative treatment. No holistic view. Just one template: “Saw it? Cut it.” Fast. Aggressive. Expensive. Careless. Their goal isn’t your health. Their goal is your wallet. And after their “treatment”, you’re not better — you’re more broken and confused. Both my husband and I were told we needed serious surgeries. But in one case, another doctor confirmed that surgery was completely unnecessary. In the other, a simple diet corrected all test results and symptoms in just three months. That says everything about acibadem.
